My poem, "On the Interstate" was accepted for publication online at Literary Mama. I've been a fan of this online publication for a very long time: its content is near and dear to me. Literary Mama is chock full of high quality writing that has both inspired and intimidated me. I suffered two rejections a few years back, and just recently summoned the courage to submit once again. My piece will appear in early December of this year.
Here's an excerpt:
Life happens in flashes.
I write it down on Post It notes.
Bugs splatter to their deaths on the windshield.
He asks me
“When we die, why the earth doesn’t die with us?”
